The Project Cabinet of Curiosities consists in a discreet integration of contemporary art works in some or the ancient collection rooms, such as Mammals, Exotic Mammals and Birds, plus a planetarium that we still have to visit as it is being refurbished. We are trying to agree on more rooms. The proposal is briefly to set up a cabinet of natural curiosities as inspired by the writings of Gabriel Kastelmarckt(1587) about the necessary elements in the construction of natural “kunstakammer” where the idea of exoticism spaces from art pieces, to archeology and natural curiosities. We intend this idea in the broadest sense, aiming at a stratification of medias and intentions, where diverse imageries, poesy and Romantic ritualistic merge towards the sentiment of the Latin “monstrum” as the result of artistic search implying the thorough observation of Nature on the verge of Myth.
